Bastian Schweinsteiger could be a doubt for Manchester United’s visit
to Everton on Saturday-week after suffering a thigh injury during the
warm-up for Germany’s 1-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland on Thursday evening.
Ahead of the match the DFB’s official account tweeted:
@BSchweinsteiger picked up an injury during the pre-match warm-up and
will miss the game.”
Schweinsteiger has become a key player under Louis van Gaal at United
and Joachim Löw stated that the seriousness of the 31-year-old’s
problem will be come clearer over the coming days.
“For Schweinsteiger I will need to see. [Medical staff] said two or three days rest,” the coach said.
Germany’s loss means they require a point against Georgia to secure qualification for Euro 2016.
