Man City Are Charged By UEFA Because Fans Booed The Champions League Anthem

Manchester City have been charged by UEFA after their fans booed the Champions League anthem last night.

The famous tune was met by the usual howls of derision by the City faithful before the group stage clash against Sevilla, as supporters continued their tradition of showing their contempt for European football.
UEFA confirmed this afternoon that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against City after match officials reported the ‘disruption of competition anthem’ before kick-off in their match against the La Liga side on Wednesday night.
A UEFA spokesperson said the case will be heard by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on November 19.
Despite the continent’s governing body for football currently finding themselves in diserray, they have  still found the time to pursue Manchester City over the fact that the fanfare that precedes Champions League matches is not treated with the due respect and excitement.
It’s not City’s first clash with UEFA in recent seasons, however, after the Premier League club was left furious by the decision to allow CSKA Moscow fans into their stadium for a Champions League tie between the two clubs – after Moscow had been hit by a stadium ban for racist chanting.
