Shola Ameobi has joined Championship strugglers Bolton Wanderers on a short-term contract.
Ameobi, 34, signed a deal with the club after a trial spell, having left Crystal Palace, the official Bolton website said.The former Newcastle striker, a Nigeria international, played for Turkish club Gaziantep last season.
He will be given the No. 26 shirt at Bolton, whose manager Neil Lennon is aiming to end the run of poor form that sees them at the foot of the table.
