Having lost back-to-back league games for only the second time this season and exiting the Capital One Cup against Manchester City, Alan Pardew aims to get his side back on track against Louis van Gaal's title chasers.
The Dutchman hasn't enjoyed the best week himself, having seen his side play out a dour goalless draw against their neighbours before being knocked out of the League Cup by Middlesbrough on penalties.
However the Red Devils go into the game knowing that they've avoided defeat against the Eagles in all 12 of their previous Premier League encounters, winning 10 of them.
United will be hoping to move closer to the top of the table with another victory, but Pardew's side would go just two points behind the visitors should they pull off the win on Saturday afternoon.
TEAM NEWS
Crystal Palace: Yohan Cabaye is struggling to be fit for this game after picking up a knock in training before the game against Manchester City.
Jason Puncheon also missed that game through illness and is a doubt, but James McArthur should be available again after missing the midweek trip to attend the birth of his son, and Joel Ward played the latter stages of the game at the Etihad Stadium after recovering from his knee injury.
Pape Souare could also be available again after sitting out the West Ham game with a knock, but Connor Wickham and Marouane Chamakh are out.
Manchester United: Antonio Valencia is a doubt after picking up a knock in United's derby draw last weekend, and Memphis Depay and James Wilson are also struggling after picking up injuries in the Middlesbrough game.
Paddy McNair is out with an abdominal injury, while Luke Shaw remains on the sidelines long term following his broken leg.

Manchester United have failed to find the back of the net on just one of their six Premier League visits to Selhurst Park to play Palace, netting 10 goals in total.
