Manchester United star hospitalised ahead of Everton game

 

PADDY McNAIR suffered an abdominal injury on international duty and spent Sunday night in hospital, it has been revealed.

And according to the IFA press officer, the centre-back remained with the team doctor and will not be flying out of Finland until later today.
The 20-year-old has made just one appearance for United this season, but with Luke Shaw a long-term absentee, he would have likely featured on the bench for the trip Everton.

Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick both missed England's qualifiers with Estonia and Lithuania and Roy Hodgson believes that will stand them in good stead for Saturday.

He said: "From Michael's point of view and Manchester United's point of view the rest will do him good.
"I fully expect to see both Michael and Wayne Rooney 100 per cent fit for Louis van Gaal next Saturday."
