Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott injured in Arsenal defeat

Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sits injured during the 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday

The London club suffered a heavy defeat in their capital one cup match against a lower division side Sheffield Wednesday. 


Arsenal were knocked out of the Capital One Cup after falling to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.

Two of their key players were injured in the game leaving the manager in a dicey selection ahead of their next few games before their recovery.

The absence of chamberlain and Theo Walcot from the first team is going to pose a major threat in the team. 

Looking at their game against dinamo Zagreb, the mixture of the first and second team in the team cost them the game. with callum chambers and per mertesacker making zero tackles in that match and mattew debuchy losing position 15 times.

Wenger made eight changes to his side, but still named the likes of Petr Cech, Mathieu Debuchy, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Olivier Giroud in his starting XI.
"The injuries are two muscular injuries, how big the damage is I don't know," Wenger said.
